In line with the European Mobility Week, Active Cities is proud to highlight the efforts of its project partners throughout Europe. From pedestrian-centric zones to car-free days, cities are taking innovative steps to encourage eco-friendly transportation and engage their communities.

Lund, Sweden:
The city of Lund is taking a leap towards a greener future by experimenting with a pedestrian-centric zone, adorned with lush greenery. To ensure the success of this initiative, the city is actively engaging its residents through the Walk21 app and on-ground surveys, gathering valuable feedback and insights.

Aarhus, Denmark:
Aarhus is leading by example this Mobility Week. The city is not only advocating for eco-friendly commutes but also celebrating the commitment of city workers who are choosing active mobility for their daily meetings.

Mechelen, Belgium:
Mechelen is going all out for Mobility Week from 16th to 22nd September. The highlight is the car-free day on 17th September, giving residents a taste of a greener, quieter city. Additionally, in a bid to promote cycling, the city, in partnership with ECOSO/Fietsatelier, is offering complimentary bicycle maintenance at Mechelen station and the city centre.

Lille, France:
Lille is set to launch the Sustainable Mobility House on 21st September. The city is hosting a vibrant public event filled with music, bike workshops, and interactive sessions. Collaborations with organizations like ADAV are set to make events like "La Fête du Vélo" a grand success.

Bergen, Norway:
Bergen has a packed schedule for Mobility Week. The city is observing a Car-Free Day on 16th September, filled with family activities and bike workshops. On 20th September, the focus shifts to Public Transport Day, featuring a seminar by Skyss. The week culminates with Cycling Day on 21st September, which includes a special film screening and rewards for avid cyclists.

Walk21:
For those keen on global insights, don't miss the PATH Symposium 2023 on 21st September. The event promises enlightening perspectives from Jim Walker and other mobility experts.

Active Cities commends the efforts of its partners and cities across Europe in making Mobility Week a success. Together, we move towards a sustainable future, one step at a time.
