Urban blue-green infrastructure is under increasing pressure. More intense rainfall raises flood risks, prolonged droughts challenge vegetation, and rising temperatures intensify the urban heat island effect. At the same time, cities depend on green spaces for cooling, livability, and climate resilience.

How can we maintain and strengthen this infrastructure under changing climate conditions?

On 21 April 2026 (12:00–13:00 CET), we will explore how Hamburg and Stockholm are planning to recover and reuse greywater to support irrigation, mitigate heat islands, and sustain urban greenery.

What to Expect

During this session, you will hear:

  • Why blue-green infrastructure is essential for climate-adaptive cities
  • How greywater can be utilized to mitigate the urban heat island effect
  • “Grey turns blue” – opportunities for integrating water reuse into urban systems

There will, as always, be time for questions and discussion.

After registering below, you'll immediately receive the Zoom link and pass code for the lunch talk.

We look forward to seeing you, and don't hesitate to share this webpage in your networks!

Let’s hoist the sails and take action for water wise city neighbourhoods!

We hope to see you there online.
