The ANCHOR project investigates five demo sites (including 2 new pilots) for source-separating wastewater systems in new urban areas. A core question with new sanitation systems is how to convince the responsible authorities of the benefits. To demonstrate what source-separation can look like in practice, ANCHOR is developing virtual tours of each demo site. First up: the Jenfelder Au city district in Hamburg.
Jenfelder Au is a city district in transfirmation, evolging from an old military complex into a climate-neutral neighbourhood with 770 homes. The district uses separate systems for blackwater, greywater and rainwater to optimise energy consumption and produce biogas for electricity and heat.
