The BRAVE partnership was invited to host a workshop at the Cleantech Venture Day in Amsterdam, focussing on public engagement models for scaling the mobility transition. The event, hosted by BRAVE partner Cambridge Cleantech, enabled BRAVE to address a varied audience of cleantech venture builders, energy solution providers and distribution system operators (DSOs).

BRAVE leads discussion on scaling the mobility transition
The BRAVE-led session, titled "Scaling Living Labs for Mobility Transition – leveraging living labs, testing schemes & pilots for system-wide mobility transformation," attracted participants including investors, cleantech innovators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders involved in the future of mobility.
The session addressed the role of living labs as an innovation vehicle for achieving a transformation of current mobility systems. Discussions covered practical experiences and methodologies for establishing and scaling these initiatives, with BRAVE's work on building public-private engagement models for scaling local energy solutions being highlighted.
Key topics included the potential of real-world testing environments to de-risk and accelerate the market entry of novel mobility solutions, the use of testing and pilot projects to validate emerging technologies and business models, and strategies to ensure that local initiatives contribute to broader systemic change. The benefits of transnational collaboration in sharing knowledge and resources were also highlighted.
BRAVE partner Cambridge Cleantech contributed its expertise and insights from ongoing research work in BRAVE, using BRAVE pilots as examples of best practices in scaling local energy solutions in the North Sea region.

BRAVE is building a blueprint for mobility scaling in Amiens
BRAVE's work developing and implementing scalable models for the clean energy transition also extends to electrified public transport. In its pilot case in Amiens, France, BRAVE is supporting the development of replicable investment models for the city's €130 million low-carbon public bus fleet. This initiative, involving French cluster organisation Pôle MEDEE and sustainable transition accelerator CD2E, aims to establish a blueprint for other cities transitioning to electric and biodiesel bus fleets.
