On the 9th of December, Vejle hosted a network meeting in the Food Innovation House at Dandy Business Park with the theme of market opportunities and documentation in circular construction. Through collaboration with involved partners and stakeholders greater insights were gained through inspiring sharing of information. Vejle invited companies and other organisations in the construction industry to “Vejle Bygger Cirkulært” (Vejle builds Circularity).

People met in Vejle for Vejle Bygger Cirkulært.
The programme included a presentation by Stefan Christoffer Gottlieb (department of Technology and Innovation, SDU, Civil and Architectural Engineering) on how circular construction can be scaled from a market perspective. Another presentation was given by Pia Ohrt Thomsen (Senior Consultant, ETA-Danmark on) documentation of recycled building materials. After which, Jan Rohde (Director & Founder of Green Dozer) on how to make circular building materials profitable.
People present on Tuesday shared insights about the following themes in the networking meeting:
- Breaking down market barriers and promoting circular construction practices,
- Reducing barriers to promote the use of recycled building materials in the construction industry,
- Demanding documentation for using recycled materials in both small and large construction projects.

Relevant insights were gathered on the themes of the presentations. Existing barriers exist in the lack of standards in the market for reused construction, standards are required for assessing quality, service life, suitability, and general technical acceptance. Equally, documentation is a barrier for reusage of materials but more tools to help are becoming available in Denmark. Alongside existing barriers, great accomplishments were also shared. GreenDozer has saved thousands of square metres of wooden flooring through the involvement of clients, consultants, contractors, and craftsmen early in project processes.
