In our new video, we visit our Hamburg demonstrator sites! Our project partners from Bezirksamt Altona and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences introduce our two demonstrator sites:
the Elbe Hike & Bike Trail, a popular recreational area and Bullnwisch, a street on the outskirts of the city.
Our project partners from the Hamburg-Altona District Authority and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) explain how urban light pollution affects biodiversity and citizens and introduce our project goals. We also present our two demonstrator sites in Hamburg: the Elbe Hike & Bike Trail, a popular recreational area and Bullnwisch, a street on the outskirts of the city.
At these sites, we have implemented new sustainable lighting solutions to reduce light pollution. Our partners explain the new lighting systems and their benefits, emphasizing the importance of balancing environmental protection with people’s need for night-time activities.
We also show our Extended Reality (XR) tool. Developed by HAW experts, the XR tool allows users to visualize different lighting scenarios and make adjustments using VR glasses and a touch table. It aims to enable planners, authorities and community members to experience lighting virtually and collaborate more effectively on sustainable solutions.
