Mid-term Event in Middelburg

On November 11th, the Dutch partners will organize the FIER mid-term event for the Netherlands at the Provinciehuis in Middelburg.

During this day, partners from Veiligheidsregio Zeeland, the Municipality of Dordrecht, and Provincie Zeeland will present the ongoing FIER projects aimed at enhancing flood resilience across Zeeland. The program will showcase results on three key themes: understanding potential impacts of floods, tools for crisis management, and strategies for recovery and societal self-reliance.

The event will feature interactive workshops, including a serious game simulating flood scenarios in Zeeland, exercises with the FIER Decision Support Tool, and sessions on multi-layered safety approaches and post-flood recovery planning. Partners will gain hands-on experience with the digital twin of Zeeland, explore cross-border impacts, and discuss practical measures for crisis response and community preparedness.
