Wesermarsch have officially given the starting signal for a new, intermunicipal, business park called die Interkommunaler Gewerbepark Wesermarsch GmbH (Intermunicipal Business Park Wesermarsch GmbH). The Wesermarsch Kreis and its nine municipalities intend to unite and realise a joint, forward-looking, business park that holds space for businesses with a strong focus on sustainability. The energy transition is in full swing.

Interkommunaler Gewerbepark Wesermarsch GmbH is officialised.
NetZero Northwest Germany
The starting signal was given for this new, innovative, and sustainable take on a business park in Nordenham. A multitude of knowledgeable people will help to realise the project, with Harald Stindt and Lutz Stührenberg as managing directors which will give fruitful results in this intermunicipal project that aims to look forward and be a more future-proof business park. There will be business parks established in different locations, that are integrated into the wider German strategy called NetZero Northwest Germany. Wesermarsch is an industry heavy district, where visions and approaches like this are a highly promising development, giving special attention to energy needs and the German NetZero vision.
So, what does NetZero Northwest Germany entail?
Germany is boosting the emergence of Net-Zero Valleys that specialise in industrial transformation and green energy. The intention of such a valley is to meet the EU's Net Zero Industry Act targets through transformation of the industry and boosting of infrastructural development. In the Northwest of Lower Saxony, where Wesermarsch is located, a large potential and access to offshore wind, green hydrogen infrastructure and solar PV give a promising mix. During last November's partner consortium in Wesermarsch, the NetZero vision was also presented to partners. Emphasis was placed on hydrogen, battery and energy storage, onshore wind power and renewable offshore energy, solar, power grid, and additional transformative industrial technologies to boost decarbonisation. Another key element of the NetZero is to build up the social support and involvement for these new technologies to ensure long-term successes.

Looking forward
The new business park will promote and advance the entire Wesermarsch region as it enables positive development, new business opportunities, and a broad vision for sustainable development. The Lower Saxony Ministry of the Environment is actively looking for companies with innovative products, developments, or services that give them a front-runner position in climate protection and sustainability. Monetary rewards are available for eligible companies, which shows the desire and hope the government has for the region.
Intermunicipal Business Park Wesermarsch GmbH is a sustainable and green version of a business park, which aligns exactly with the vision the GRITH project hopes to communicate and achieve. Transformation of the approach to business parks needs long-term visions, plans, and actions and this new business park offers all these to its region.
