At the Circular Week 2025 in Warsaw, the keynote βThe City as Ecosystem β Designing Circular Urban Futuresβ explored how cities can become active agents in the circular transformation.
Using Hamburg as a case study, Britta Peters (Senior Advisor, HiiCCE GmbH) highlighted how circular principles take shape across multiple scales β from individual objects and urban infrastructure to industries and the broader city system.
A particularly compelling aspect of the keynote was its systems view of circular urbanism.
MoLo Hubs appeared in two parts:
- Infrastructure level: Alongside our ππ°πΌππππ― π½πΆπΉπΌπ, MoLo Hubs demonstrated how urban logistics, repair networks, and resource flow management can drive circularity within the built environment.
- Social and cultural level: In connection with "Tower to the People", MoLo Hubs was presented as vital social node that integrates community participation, local culture, and sustainable practices β bridging the gap between technical infrastructure and civic life.
Through this dual framing, MoLo Hubs emerge as a crucial connector β linking infrastructure, community, and systemic change. The keynote expressed not only an inspiring vision of circular urban futures but also a grounded look at how such transformation is already unfolding in Hamburg.
