This summer, the MoLo Hubs project applied in the Interreg North Sea Call 5, with the aim of boosting Norwegian participation as a special opportunity that enables ongoing Interreg North Sea projects to bring in new Norwegian partners or expand the role of existing ones.

Bergen’s role in MoLo Hubs

Bergen joins the project to learn from MoLo Hubs pilots and explore whether the demonstrated solutions could inspire or be adopted in the city, even beyond the project’s scope.

The city has already implemented 14 mobility hubs - currently with car sharing and charging in focus. We are considering how to extend the network and add logistical services. The MoLo Hubs pilots are inspiring and provide us with important insights – says project manager Anders Waage Nilsen.

At the same time Bergen contributes valuable experience in:

  • Two-way data-driven management of shared and micro mobility fleets
  • Infrastructure planning based on real-time data
  • Use of MDS (Mobility Data Specification) and CDS (Curb Data Specification) data standards

This expertise strengthens the project’s capacity for developing scalable, data-based integrated mobility & logistics solutions and will be valuable for all pilot areas of the project.

Benefits for MoLo Hubs Partners

Bergen’s involvement provides partners with:

  • New insights into fleet and curb data opportunities
  • Policy design guidance informed by MDS and CDS
  • Learnings for data-driven planning and impact assessment

By expanding Norwegian participation and integrating Bergen’s know-how, MoLo Hubs moves closer to shaping smarter, more connected mobility systems across the North Sea region.
