Oostende, October 2025 — The REDII Ports partner Blue Power Synergy (BPS) has reached the next milestone in launching its innovative Solarwind yacht MERIVY at the Port of Oostende.
In recent weeks, the BPS team, in close cooperation with Lefebvre Sails, finalised the production and installation of both solar sails, connecting them to the vessel’s hybrid-electric propulsion system. The yacht has now been transported from the BPS shipyard to the Fisheries Dock with the support of Noordzeekranen, where the first water tests have been successfully carried out.
During the coming days, BPS will complete the final technical checks and prepare for the full on-water testing of the solar sails — a tangible example of innovation by practice and an important step toward decarbonising ports and vessels within the Interreg North Sea REDII Ports project.
