The international hydrogen summit in Paris at the end of January was an opportunity for Brittany to highlight the European Interreg North Sea Programme project RediiPorts, in which the Région Bretagne and the agence Bretagne Next are partners, for the production and distribution of renewable energies (electricity, e-methanol, biofuel, H2) and decarbonization of nine ports from the Brittany Sea to the North Sea.
Forums and public speeches on this structuring European project also provided concrete examples of the deployment of technologies using renewable hydrogen in ships in our Breton ports, thus demonstrating the strength of public-private partnerships at the European level.
During the workshop "Présentation des résultats de l’étude Waste to H2 par l'agence Bretagne Next", the REDII Ports partner was able to showcase its research on waste-to-hydroen opportunities. The objective of the study was to examine the techno-economic model and the replicability of a project to produce H2 from waste pyrogasification and/or biogas steam reforming with carbon capture.
