How and why do housing developers integrate shared mobility in their projects? In our fifth SN²-webinar, we explored this topic with Malika Van de Weerd from AM Gebiedsontwikkeling (The Netherlands) and Kristof Penders from Woonland social housing (Mechelen, Flanders). Cornelia Cordes from the Freie Hansestadt Bremen moderated the session.
About the webinar
Cornelia Cordes opened the webinar by introducing the SHARE-North Squared-project, explaining what SN² is all about, what we want more, and what we want less of. Spoiler alert: we want more parks, less parking. And we need housing developers to realise this.
Next up, Malika Van de Weerd introduced AM's approach to sustainable mobility, detailing how they design, develop, and monitor solutions tailored to future residents' needs. She showcased various shared mobility solutions they have implemented, ranging from closed groups to public offerings.
Kristof Penders then presented Woonland’s vision and mission, along with their collaboration with the City of Mechelen. He discussed four social housing projects. In two of these pilots, Woonland integrated shared mobility solutions, focusing on the actions taken, measures that succeeded, those who did not, and the lessons learned during this process.
