ASTER, with support from the Interreg North Sea Region program, is piloting Flanders’ first Super Smart Charging hub in Mechelen, Belgium.
In partnership with ASTER, a Super Smart Charging Hub (SSCH) has been established at the office building of the social housing company ‘Woonmaatschappij Rivierenland’, ensuring locally produced solar energy is used, stored, and shared efficiently.
The SSCH integrates solar panels, batteries, charging infrastructure, vehicle-to-grid technology, and the electricity distribution network, all coordinated by an intelligent, self-learning Energy Management System (EMS). The EMS keeps solar energy local and minimizes grid congestion, making sustainable energy management smarter and future-proof.
