Anemoi in the media

Based on our publication: Chemical emissions from offshore wind farms: From identification to challenges in impact assessment and regulation, the Anemoi project received quite some attention in the media.

The content of the publications was condensed into two articles, which are available on France 3 and Science et Avenir. But the content was also briefly summarised in two short interviews (spoken in French) on France Culture and France Inter.

WATTer documentary on the effects of OWFs

Offshore wind farms are important for producing green energy. 🌍

🛡️ To protect wind turbines against corrosion and wear, various protective coatings and systems are used.

But what does this mean for the marine ecosystem? 🐟

🔬 We still know very little about this today.
👉 That is why, in the ANEMOI project, researchers take samples in and around offshore wind farms. This allows us to understand the impact of these protective systems and how we can reduce potential chemical emissions.

🌊 In the WATTer documentary, ILVO researcher Bavo De Witte explains more about the ANEMOI project.

ANEMOI is an Interreg Europe North Sea project funded by the EU, with co-financing for the Belgian partners from VLAIO – Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship and the Province of West Flanders.
