BBoBB shines at Circular Summit Fryslân 2025
From 10–12 June 2025, Leeuwarden hosted the Circular Summit Fryslân—a three-day international event celebrating ten years of regional circular leadership in Fryslân. Over 150 circular pioneers from across Europe gathered to connect, exchange knowledge, and accelerate the transition to a circular economy.
The Building Based on BioBased (BBoBB) project proudly contributed to this milestone event through its participation in the parallel sessions and poster presentations held on Wednesday, 12 June.
Our team engaged attendees during the morning registration and lunchtime networking with a dedicated poster showcasing the BBoBB approach to biobased building solutions. We also hosted a parallel session on the role of biobased construction in regional transitions, discussing challenges and sharing insights from our cross-border partnership.
The day’s program also featured inspiring keynotes by Mathijs Rutten, Vojtech Vosecky and Ivonne Bojoh, followed by a lively exchange during the plenary wrap-up and a celebration of the EWWR 2024 Awards. Attendees enjoyed valuable conversations during the networking reception, closing a meaningful day of collaboration and connection.
BBoBB’s presence at the summit reinforced the value of European cooperation on sustainable innovation. We thank the organizers—Provincie Fryslân, Circulair Friesland, and ACR+—for creating this platform and are proud to contribute to building a circular future.
Participants also joined field trips to explore inspiring circular initiatives and biobased projects across Fryslân.
Our poster presentation sparked valuable conversations on how biobased construction can lead the way in sustainable regional development.
The plenary programme took place in the majestic setting of the Grote Kerk in Leeuwarden, creating an inspiring and memorable atmosphere.
Field trips to various circular hotspots across Fryslân were organized, with bus transport arranged for all participants.
