The symposium features presentations from experts across several countries, covering a wide range of topics including ecological and genetic insights, as well as practical management experiences from Flanders and beyond. This exchange of knowledge provides a unique opportunity for dialogue between science and practice, engaging academics alongside professionals in water policy, water management, and invasive species control.

The day concludes with the PhD defence of Heleen Keirseblik, titled 'A century of Chinese mitten crab invasion: Lessons learnt on the ecology and behaviour of the species in Belgium."
