From 21 to 23 October, the Swedish Biodiversity Symposium took place in Göteborg, Sweden. The symposium brought together more than 400 participants interested in current theme’s concerning nature conservation and climate change. During one of the sessions, Sonja Leidenberger presented the CLANCY project to a broad target group of researchers, policy makers and nature conservationists.
The workshop ‘Scenario based risk-analysis workshop for the management of marine invasive species in a changing climate’ brought together Swedish authorities and expert to address the challenges posed by marine invasive alien species. The aim was to identify and close knowledge gaps in order to develop an action plan for the anticipated arrival of new invasive species in Swedish coastal waters. Sonja highlighted how CLANCY uses innovative tools and collaboration to tackle complex challenges. Her presentation was well received and contributed to the international visibility of the project.
It’s a prime example of how CLANCY shares its expertise and strengthens itself within European networks.
