The TU Dresden (TUD) project team recently met with the fishing authority of the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture, and Geology to discuss progress and collaboration within the CLANCY project.

During the meeting, TUD presented the current status of the project, including ongoing investigations and key results achieved so far. The team also shared experiences from monitoring activities using different trap types across various water bodies. Particular attention was given to the crab trap deployed in the Elbe River, which has been operational since April 2025. TUD outlined the challenges encountered and presented plans to further refine and improve the trapping approach.

The fishing authority provided valuable insights into the observation and distribution of CMC in Saxony and suggested additional potential trapping locations. Opportunities for collaboration with other organizations were also discussed, with the aim of expanding monitoring efforts and strengthening regional cooperation.

The meeting concluded with a survey to gather feedback from the fishing authority on their interest in and potential contribution to future cooperative activities within the project.
