Preparing our cities for heat

We’re a diverse group of public authorities, sectoral agencies, and knowledge institutions, all coming together to tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time: climate change. We are addressing outdoor heat stress by establishing a network of cool spots and routes in cities within the North Sea Region. 11 partners from 5 countries are creating cool spots and routes that protect residents, especially those most at risk. We will share all results and lessons learned, so other cities can use these solutions and strengthen their own long-term resilience.

Phase 1: Cool Network Plan(s)

We develop a city-wide Cool Network Plan, identifying where shaded routes and cool spots should be created to reduce heat stress across the entire city.
