The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), also known as the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, is an intergovernmental organization committed to promoting economic development and world trade.

In this capacity, the OECD assesses initiatives for their innovation.

The Interreg project Facilitating Resilience Embracing Islands Innovation Approaches (FREIIA), which aims to facilitate resilience and embrace innovation on islands, has just been launched. The project also works with the innovation guide developed in the Interreg Europe project Islands of Innovation: the Tipping Guide. Governance is particularly developed in FREIIA. FREIIA is the first project in the Interreg North Sea program in the field of Governance.

Although the project has not yet really started, the OECD has announced a great achievement for the FREIIA project:

"The OECD is pleased to inform us that FREIIA has been given priority for publication in the OPSI Case Study Library as a leading innovation. The OECD found it to be a very interesting project with great potential for success and emulation. The OECD hopes that the publication of FREIIA in the library will inspire other governments to take action."

With this announcement from the OECD, we are even more motivated to make FREIIA a success!
