Business Lunch: Logistics and Green Transition
Närsam hosted a business lunch focused on logistics and the green transition, bringing together over 20 companies. Vänerhamn AB and Mapei shared their experiences and challenges, highlighting concrete steps toward sustainability. Vänerhamn showcased investments in solar panels, electric forklifts, and local collaborations that have enabled a fully green transport chain. The event fostered dialogue and set the stage for long-term cooperation among local businesses.

Annual Meeting on Inland Waterway Transport
At the Vänersjöfarten annual meeting, organized by Vänersamarbetet and the Swedish Transport Administration, stakeholders discussed the untapped potential of inland waterways.
Currently, only 20% of shipping capacity is utilized, while road transport faces increasing pressure.
Ports are ready, space for goods exists, and the climate benefits are clear. The call to action: bring together ideas and create better conditions for profitable, sustainable business to strengthen the region and beyond.

Närsam represented Kristinehamn at the Logistics and Transport Fair in Gothenburg, presenting the municipality as an attractive logistics hub. With VÄNERHAMN AB connecting rail and the E18 highway, Kristinehamn offers unique opportunities for efficient multimodal transport. Strategic planning and designated areas for warehouses and logistics underline the region’s readiness for new investments and partnerships.
