The GSC 2.2 Stakeholder Involvement Strategy provides a practical framework to engage ports, logistics actors, policymakers, and communities in Europe’s energy transition. Through goal-setting, stakeholder mapping, tailored engagement, co-developing action plans, and transparent reporting, it builds trust, aligns priorities, and secures support for sustainable supply chains.

The GSC Regulations Report shows how international, EU, and national rules shape the green transition in ports and logistics. It highlights opportunities—lower emissions, cleaner air, stronger competitiveness—and challenges of cost, infrastructure, and regulatory complexity. The report calls for clearer policies, stronger investment, and collaboration to make ports sustainable.

On September 19, 2024, Kristinehamn Municipality hosted a networking event and workshop where stakeholders from ports, logistics, and regional authorities discussed sustainable transport challenges, highlighted infrastructure gaps, and explored solutions like electrification and policy alignment to advance zero-emission freight.

This report examines how North Sea Port can develop and finance shore-side power (OPS). It compares OPS costs with marine gas oil, draws lessons from international ports, and uses stakeholder input to identify workable business and governance models. Findings show that risk-sharing, planning, and clear roles make OPS viable and effective

Port of Skagen uses a mobile shore power system to supply pelagic vessels during unloading, replacing diesel. Delivering up to 1.5 MW of green electricity, it cuts CO₂ by about 86% and removes local pollutants. A user-pays model ensures fair access, and the flexible cable system fits varying berths, offering a replicable model.

A Clean Energy Hub concept for the Port of Waalwijk uses local renewable energy — new wind turbines, solar parks, and a biogas plant — to maximise self-sufficiency. Fixed and flexible users are linked with major power producers nearby. The report is in Dutch, with an English summary, and informs other project activities.
