At Transport Logistic 2025 in Munich, the H2ignite project made a compelling case for hydrogen’s role in shaping the future of sustainable logistics.

Presented by Port of Hamburg Marketing, H2ignite was featured alongside other Interreg and IHATEC-funded projects in a Meet and Greet information event that drew attention from industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers across Europe.

Transport Logistic 2025, held June 2–5 in Munich, was the world’s largest logistics trade fair, featuring 2,722 exhibitors from 73 countries and over 77,000 visitors. With a strong international presence and focus on cutting-edge technologies like AI and autonomous transport, the event underscored the sector’s global relevance and innovation potential.

Our joint Meet and Greet information event served as a dynamic platform for H2ignite to demonstrate its contribution to the Sustainable Energy Hub Hamburg initiative, which aims to transform the Port of Hamburg into a model for green energy integration. Through direct engagement with visitors, we shared insights into how hydrogen technologies can decarbonize maritime logistics and hinterland transport systems. The discussions highlighted not only technical innovations but also the regulatory and infrastructural frameworks needed to support large-scale adoption.

A key moment during the fair was the visit of the Scandria Alliance Delegation. Representatives from various regions along the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Corridor and academic institutions were informed about decarbonization measures in maritime port environments and hinterland logistics, the role of ports as sustainable energy hubs, and digitalization in logistics.

H2ignite’s presence at Transport Logistic 2025 highlighted hydrogen’s growing role in sustainable logistics. The project’s success depends on collaboration across sectors—policy, technology, infrastructure, and academia—to tackle energy transition challenges. By joining Europe’s largest logistics fair, H2ignite showcased its progress and reinforced its commitment to innovation, partnerships, and climate-neutral logistics.
