On October 22nd, around 50 participants made a stop at the LIHYP MidTerm Event during the Hydrogen Technology World Expo in Hamburg โ and what an inspiring day it was!
Project managers Ingrid Klinge and Stevie Atterbury welcomed and introduced everyone to the world of LIHYP, while Annika Rix explained the role hydrogen plays in the City of Hamburg.
Our discussions and insights showed that weโre on the right track with LIHYP: exploring how #hydrogen can power the future and mapping the regulatory and regional pathways to get there.
๐งฉ Key lessons learned:
โ Regional action drives real change โ investments and projects happen locally, and they now need to feed into national and international hydrogen strategies.
โ Collaboration is key โ as Dirk Schaap and Arnoud Boerkoel demonstrated, interregional roadmaps for hydrogen are like a puzzle with many dynamic, national pieces.
โ Innovation in motion โ Jens Erik Helbo Andersen took us into the world of retrofitting, showing how existing vehicles can become hydrogen-ready.
โ Networking for impact โ Andreas Stroink and Phileas Scheffer offered an exclusive first look at our upcoming LIHYP Hydrogen Networking Platform
โ Real pilots, real progress โ from hydrogen-powered buses, cargo bikes, airport and aviation solutions, to freight trains and living labs with on-site Hโ refuelling connected to wind & PV energy.
The day ended with vibrant networking, new alliances, and a shared sense of purpose. Weโre full of energy and excitement as we head into the second half of the project!
