We are excited to share insights into the pilot activity in Stadt Oldenburg (Germany) as part of the Interreg North Sea Programme Project LIHYP - Linking Hydrogen Power Potentials!

At the heart of this pilot: fuel-cell powered cargo bikes supplied with Hashtag#greenhydrogen. They offer long operating times, quick refueling, and reliable performance even under challenging conditions. The pilot aims to test not only the technical aspects but also operational requirements such as staffing, refueling procedures, safety standards, and regulatory frameworks.

The goal: to develop a transferable blueprint for Hashtag#urban Hashtag#hydrogen Hashtag#logistics hubs that can be replicated in other regions.

Project partners:
Bremer Mineralölhandel GmbH BMÖ: responsible for the technical design, hydrogen supply, and provision of the cargo bike.

DLR-Institut für Vernetzte Energiesysteme: contributing its extensive expertise in hydrogen infrastructure to install and operate a refilling hub for e-cargo bikes with fuel-cell range extenders. In addition, DLR will provide technical knowledge to develop a guideline for handling hydrogen fuel at sufficient quality and a practical framework to make international hydrogen trading applicable.

OLEC e.V.: leading dissemination, public engagement, workshops, and events.

This pilot is an important step toward greener, smarter and more resilient urban logistics.
