On 12th of December 2025 a total of 18 groups of international students showcased their videos and posters in concise pitch sessions, each followed by a Q&A with the client Province of Overijssel (lead partner of MegaBITS) and their professors of the Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle (The Netherlands).

The video was the final product delivered as part of their Marketing and Communication plan developed during a 20 week long International Business Project with a real business challenge by a real client: the MegaBITS project. The students were requested to make a Marketing and Communication Plan to promote the Smart Cycling concept to local and regional authorities in six EU countries (BE, DE, ES, FR, IT and NL).

As project managers of MegaBITS Wim Dijkstra and Ronald Jorna were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the insights. The presentations offered fresh and actionable perspectives on how to communicate the Smart Cycling concept more effectively to policy makers. It was inspiring to see how quickly students were able to translate a complex topic into clear, compelling communication strategies. And refreshing to notice how AI was used by the students to visualize the rather abstract concept of smart cycling.

At the end the three winning teams got a certificate, accompanied by a bag of typical Dutch ‘stroopwafels’ for each group member. Bikes and stroopwafels, more Dutch it can’t get!
The three winning videos are:

1.    Video with City of Leuven (BE)
2.    Video with City of Ferrara (IT)
3.    Video with City of Valencia (ES)
