As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the energy transition workforce, NESSIE is supporting an internship and traineeship matchmaking event on 10 April 2026 in Vannes, bringing together aspiring professionals and key actors from the renewable energy sector.

This initiative is closely linked to our traineeship activities, which are designed to bridge the gap between education and industry by creating meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. By facilitating direct interaction between students, job seekers, and employers, we aim to make careers in the energy transition more accessible, visible, and attractive.

A practical step towards workforce development

The energy transition is not only a technological challenge—it is a workforce challenge. Across the North Sea region, there is a growing demand for skilled installers, technicians, and professionals capable of delivering renewable energy solutions on the ground.

This event responds to that need in a tangible way. Hosted at Morbihan Énergies, it offers participants the opportunity to:

  • Meet companies and public organisations active in renewable energy
  • Explore internship and traineeship opportunities in Brittany
  • Present their profiles and career interests directly to employers
  • Gain insights into the skills and competencies required in the sector

Rather than traditional presentations, the format encourages direct exchange—creating a more dynamic and personal connection between talent and industry.

Supporting the NESSIE traineeship approach

Within NESSIE, traineeships are a key mechanism for building capacity across the energy transition value chain. They provide participants with real-world experience, exposure to professional environments, and a clearer pathway into technical careers.

This matchmaking event plays an important role in activating that pipeline. By connecting participants with organisations offering placements, it helps translate strategy into action—turning interest in the energy transition into concrete opportunities.

It also reflects our broader approach: combining recruitment, training, and on-the-job experience into an integrated pathway for new entrants and career switchers.

A collaborative regional effort

The event is organised in collaboration with regional partners and employment organisations, ensuring strong alignment with local labour market needs. By connecting education providers, public bodies, and industry actors, it reinforces the collaborative ecosystem we are building across our lighthouse regions.

At the same time, it highlights Brittany’s role as an active hub for renewable energy development—offering both learning opportunities and long-term career prospects.
