A major milestone was reached with the completion of Work Package 1, the data gathering and regional research portion of project planning. Partners presented the final findings from each lighthouse location, laying the foundation for shared strategies across borders. This ensures both shared and collaborative approaches across the NESSIE network, while still maintaining regional adaptations in application.
Looking ahead to Work Package 2, partners split into interregional working groups to explore how to connect more deeply across four key themes: recruitment, E-Campuses, Short Advanced Courses (SACs), and traineeship programmes. Each group presented its initial vision for transnational alignment—marking a strong start toward WP2’s September deliverables.
The meeting also featured practical planning sessions on communication and recruitment. Partners compared regional strategies for attracting new students to the ET field, identified shared challenges, and drafted a plan for implementation in the local VET schools.
From the potential use of open-source course platforms to early conversations around a future “NESSIE 2.0”, the Brussels meeting showed how far we’ve come—and the ambition that’s still to come. The event wrapped up with a site visit to the Green Energy Park in Asse, where partners drew inspiration from hands-on innovations in smart energy.
Thank you to everyone who made this milestone meeting a success!
