New Energy Coalition

New Energy Coalition: the lead partner of the NS H2V Ports project and ecosystem coordinator for the Port of Den Helder The Netherlands Helder, working in close collaboration with Port of Den Helder.

As lead partner, NEC keeps the project aligned across countries and ports while coordinating the development of four port-specific hydrogen roadmaps. This role integrates technical design, regional strategy, and stakeholder engagement so that each pilot port can progress toward a viable maritime Hydrogen Valley.

Within the consortium, NEC guides collaboration between industry, government, and knowledge partners. Their approach is grounded in practical delivery and ecosystem building, drawing on a broad coalition of members and projects in hydrogen, system integration, and skills. In short, NEC turns concepts into action and keeps momentum across work packages and partners.

Port of Den Helder

“The maritime energy transition demands decisive action and ports play a crucial role in making it happen. As a Wadden Sea port with a facilitating function, we are investing in sustainability and innovation. Projects like NS H2V Ports help us future-proof the Port of Den Helder as the green gateway to the North Sea.” The Port of Den Helder is advancing multiple hydrogen initiatives that support zero-emission operations on land and water, including infrastructure development and demonstration activities. Regional programmes such as the Zephyros electrolyser illustrate the port’s ambition to anchor green hydrogen production and maritime use in and around Den Helder.
