During the Offshore Experience in Den Helder, our project coordinator Joshua Dauda from New Energy Coalition presented the NSH2V Ports project, focusing on one crucial theme: hydrogen safety.
The session highlighted that as ports move toward decarbonization, safety isn’t a barrier — it’s the foundation. Without safety, there are no permits; and without collaboration, there’s no progress.
Together with experts from TotalEnergies, Seekable, Vicoma, and Omgevingsdienst Noordzeekanaalgebied, the discussion explored how ports can design safety into hydrogen projects, embed detection technologies, and align permitting processes across Europe.
The key message: turning hydrogen safety from risk to routine requires shared standards, trusted partnerships, and a culture of continuous learning.
A big thank you to all speakers and participants for an inspiring and practical discussion!
