REMARCO

REMARCO — Remediation, Management, Monitoring and Cooperation addressing North Sea UXO — is a European project funded by Interreg North Sea, dedicated to tackling one of the region’s most urgent hidden threats: World War munitions degrading on the seafloor.

As these relics corrode, they release toxic and potentially carcinogenic chemicals, threatening marine ecosystems, seafood safety, and human health. REMARCO brings together science, industry, and public authorities to confront this challenge through cutting-edge research, smart monitoring solutions, and transnational cooperation.

Our mission is clear:
Assess the risks. Monitor the pollution. Develop safe remediation strategies.
All to ensure a cleaner, safer and more resilient North Sea.
