On April 28th, Port of Aalborg held a stakeholder status Teams meeting about the preliminary results of the SPIES survey conducted in late 2024.

The following stakeholders were represented: Danske Havne (industry association for Danish commercial Ports), Ministry of Transport, Danish Industry,  Powercon A/S, SH Group A/S, N1 (power infrastructure), Port of Skagen, Port of Gothenburg, Aalborg Portland (Port), Aalborg University, and Port of Aalborg.

Besides the presentation of the preliminary survey results, Port of Aalborg gave a status on their plans for electrification of the Port (On shore power and port-operations), the Ministry of Transport, which is the competent authorities for  Danish Ports, gave their perspective and status for the deployment of OPS until 2030 and Danske Havne gave their view of the biggest pros and cons regarding Onshore Power Supply (OPS).

During the meeting, there was a constructive discussion about OPS in general and not only concerning inland ports. One major conclusion, which will be passed on to use in the report/policy recommendation, is that there is a need to provide a level playing field for funding OPS also for ports outside the TNT network, i.e., ports where tourists and tour operators demand access to OPS, i.e., Port of Skagen.
