34 ports responded to our call to complete the online survey.
- 65% of the respondents already have shore-based power infrastructure. This varies from simple cabinets (23%) and smart cabinets (32%) to a combination of both (45%).
- 30% of the ports indicate that the occupancy rate is low. 41% of the respondents do not even have insight into the actual use of the cabinets.
- A clear majority is willing to invest in the expansion of the infrastructure: 26 of the 34 ports want to build new installations within five years.
81.25% of ports are unsure whether they will use the European AFIF fund, mainly due to the complex application process and a lack of internal capacity to apply.
The majority of private ports (60%) and public ports (37.5%) indicate that they are not aware of the AFIR regulations, despite the obligations arising from the regulation
