Progress pilot Kortrijk Havenkaai

On the 11th of December 2025, the pilot Kortrijk Havenkaai project was officially connected to the River Leie. As a result, in addition to geothermal energy, aquathermal energy can now also be used to heat this new urban district without fossil fuels.
A strong step towards sustainable urban energy, and a fine example showing that aquathermal energy doesn’t have to be rocket science at all.
