CircleBIM Consortium Meeting in Molde

Moving Circular Construction Forward

The CircleBIM partners met in Molde, Norway, on 3-4 June 2025 for a productive consortium meeting hosted by Møre og Romsdal fylkeskommune. Partners from seven countries gathered to further develop our framework for integrating circularity into digital construction processes and to exchange experiences from across Europe.

Highlights of the meeting included an inspiring presentation from Advansia Consultancy on digitalisation and circularity in the Norwegian construction sector, featuring a live demo of a digital twin for public buildings in the region. The demonstration showed how structured data and smart data environments can support material reuse and informed decision-making in building management.

The consortium also worked intensively on the further development of the CircleBIM framework and pilot project templates, discussed monitoring and evaluation indicators, and explored how digital tools can support circular ambitions in diverse regulatory and market contexts. In parallel, interactive workshops were held to better understand the needs of future users and decision-makers.

The meeting not only strengthened the technical aspects of the project but also provided an excellent opportunity for networking and knowledge sharing against the backdrop of Norway’s striking natural scenery.

The next physical partner meeting is scheduled for December 2025 in Mechelen, Belgium, and we look forward to continuing this collaborative journey toward a more sustainable built environment.
