In March twelve third-year bio-engineering students from the University of Antwerp visited the ILVO premises.

During their visit, they gained insights into the scientific research conducted by ILVO, with a particular focus on the composting process, which includes converting non-agricultural bioresources into valuable end products. The students toured the ILVO composting site where windrow composting is practiced. Additionally, they visited the long-term field trial Bopact at ILVO, where results on increasing soil carbon content through compost application were presented.
