Partners

The EXPBIO project brings together a strategic alliance of public authorities, academic institutions, and botanical gardens across the North Sea Region (NSR). Spanning five countries—Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium—this partnership is designed to address the pressing issue of biodiversity loss through collaborative efforts in research, education, and practical restoration activities.

The consortium is composed of eight core partners, including regional public authorities and knowledge partners, each contributing their specialized expertise in biodiversity restoration, seed mix development, and public engagement. The partnership is organized around three key thematic clusters: Restoration Practices, Seed Mix Development, and Education & Engagement, ensuring a comprehensive approach to enhancing plant biodiversity across diverse urban and rural landscapes in the NSR.

The project has also secured letters of support from over 30 stakeholders, reflecting a broad base of backing for the project’s objectives and ambitions. These stakeholders represent a diverse array of public, private, and academic organizations at local, regional, national, and European levels, underscoring the regional partnership among the core partners and their extended networks.
