Our Pilots

Our pilots are divided in work pagages where work pagage 2 and workpagage 3 have pilots.

• Work pagage 2:  Grassland ecosystems are under pressure from urbanisation, infrastructure and intensive land use, which are causing natural values to become increasingly fragmented and isolated. Conventional grassland management is no longer sufficient to preserve and enhance natural values. To investigate how grassland management can be improved, we consulted grassland specialists from various countries and are testing these new insights in four demonstration areas in Flanders, Gelderland, Sweden (Trollhattan) and Denmark (Hjörring). In the pilots different management and restoration practices are tested from different mowing regimes, over seeding and transplanting to conservation burning.
