SIRR contributes to the green transition where no one is left behind.

With more people moving to cities, rural areas struggle to keep their communities and businesses thriving.

SIRR supports and shape local efforts to innovate and stay resilient.

Through collaboration, the project seeks to create social innovative interactions throughout coastal and rural areas.

In SIRR, we will work on strategic platforms and models to make rural areas more attractive and support businesses in the green transition.

SIRR aims to engage with all Multi Helix actors, which means a wide range of organisations, including universities, research institutions, local governments, chambers of commerce, environmental groups, SMEs, regional innovation actors and cultural associations among others.

SIRR is seeking partners and collaborators from various sectors, including academia, government agencies, businesses, and community organizations within the North Sea region.

Transnational cooperation is integral to SIRR, and it is facilitated through enhancing communication and cooperation, facilitating cross-border collaboration and engaging with relevant identified stakeholders, projects and networks. 

A lot of focus will be on sharing and transferring knowledge and best practices across all North Sea regions and capacity-building initiatives among project partners from different countries.

Yes. Europe is clear in its strategy for green transition that no person or place should be left behind.

We need to strengthen rural areas and create counterweights to the overall urbanization trend.
