SIRR strengthens sustainability integration

A 2025 follow-up by HoloHouse shows that sustainability is increasingly embedded in SIRR’s work, with activities broadly aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project is progressing according to plan, supported by strong collaboration between academia, municipalities, and students, as well as concrete results such as stakeholder mapping and local local multiple helix pilot actions.

At the same time, the follow-up highlights opportunities to further strengthen impact, particularly by expanding collaboration with companies and civil society, and by further increasing the dissemination of project results at local rural and hub level.

We see strong collaboration across partners and multiple helix stakeholders in the local hubs – together, they are fostering sustainable and fair solutions. By strengthening the link between hub activities and the SDGs even further, as well as continuing to be adaptive and working closely with resilience and cohesion, we believe that the project – and thereby the local hubs – will create long-term regional impact
