From Policy to Practice: Addressing Marine Litter within the TREASURE Project

This session is organised in collaboration with the Interreg North Sea project TREASURE – (Targeting the Reduction of Plastic Outflow into the North Sea). The webinar will focus specifically on governance and policy implementation, drawing on practical case studies and project insights.

Save the Date

We cordially invite experts in marine litter, waste management and water management from public administrations and relevant stakeholder organisations to join this exchange. The aim is to present key results and recommendations emerging from the project and to explore how they can inform regional and local action.

We hope that your regions can benefit from the experience gathered within the TREASURE project, and that together we can identify concrete next steps towards a plastic-free North Sea.

    Introducing the TREASURE Project
    Presentation by Marta Jacuniak-Suda(Weser-Ems) outlining the project’s objectives, structure, and four pillars: governance & policy, data & monitoring, behaviour change, and removal techniques, with particular emphasis on governance.
  • 10:20 – 11:15
    Introduction to the case-studies: governance structures and policy instruments, practical barriers and opportunities.
