Plastic Pirates takes students on a journey of discovery into the world of plastic across 4 thematic islands. Here they investigate how plastic is made, how it is used – and what challenges it creates for nature and the climate. Along the way, students work creatively with recycling, solutions and innovation and develop their own ideas.

Over the past months, TREASURE's project partners in Denmark have built an open, online learning platform for Danish primary schools (grades 5–6, age 11-13), inspired by the Plastic Pirates concept and methodology. In addition to the EU Plastic Pirates materials, they have incorporated input and perspectives from The Ocean Movement, Plastic Change, Klimatorium, and the platform has been developed under the Interreg North Sea project TREASURE.

The platform is called plastikpirater.dk and is now live in a Danish version:
https://plastikpirater.dk/

Their intention has been to create an accessible and engaging universe for teachers and students, adapted to the Danish school context while staying true to the overall spirit of Plastic Pirates. A class is currently testing the material in a pilot run, and the first feedback has been very positive.
