HCU and BSW meet to coordinate next steps for low-carbon, digital building processes
On 19 May 2025, the Hamburg LCCP Workshop took place at HafenCity University’s Campus Tower, bringing together key stakeholders from HCU and the Hamburg Ministry for Urban Development and Housing (BSW). The meeting followed a joint site visit to Ex-Karstadt Harburg and focused on shaping the next phases of Hamburg’s efforts toward low-carbon, circular construction.
Discussions centered on shared objectives for the city’s pilot projects, expectations for practical implementation, and strategies for expanding data collection on circular practices. Participants also identified additional stakeholders to involve in the process and explored opportunities for cross-institutional collaboration.
The workshop marked an important milestone for the CircleBIM initiative and Hamburg’s wider ambitions for climate-neutral and resource-efficient construction in the city.
