Diversification of the wood ressources used for construction

Project description

In order to guarantee the most adapted use and processing by their compagnies, the partners wish to make contacts to share information and identify the best economic transformation for the secondry wood varieties available for them localy. It is in this context that the transborder exchanges will enable the different parties to share and compare the knowldge that they have already aquired on a local scale.

Furthemore, re-employing and recycling end of life woods (palets, chipborads, plywood, second life wood fibers, etc.) Is a subject in full development in France. The different partners wish to work on the following subjects :

  • Developing plateforms for the reuse of wood waste 
  • Identify the supply of treated wood waste (waste wood from furniture, deconstruction, etc.) and the market flow  
  • Taking into consideration the different means of transport to reduce the carbon imprint (experimentation on freight trains or inland waterway transport with barges) 
  • The better understanding of the access to the ressource (volume, different qualities, transportation, etc.)

Partners we are looking for

Fibois Hauts-de-France, Fibois Bretagne and Fibois Normandie are regional inter-branch associations of the french forest and wood sector, their role is to unite the actors and professionals of the same sector. They aim, among other things, to:

  • Promote the forest and wood in all its uses (construction, development, heating, packaging, etc.) 
  • Unite professionals of the forest and wood sector on their territories 
  • Communicate on the different professions of the forest and wood sector.

We are looking for partners that are professional organisations, federations or professional associations that represent the forest and wood sector or a specific branch of the forest wood sector (forestry, sawmills, carpentry, construction, industry, etc.) in order to be able to share our techniques and our knowledge within the scope of the Interreg North Sea Region cross-border cooperation program.
