Renewable energy is key to reaching energy independence and security. Time is of the essence - the shift needs to happen fast - but it must be a just transition, ensuring no one is left behind in the race to get there.  

The North Sea Region is uniquely placed to pave the way and accelerate the transition. All seven Interreg North Sea countries appear in the top 20 of the Global Energy Transition Index 2021. Sweden, Norway and Denmark top the list, while France is one of only two major world economies to rank in the top 10 list.
