How can transnational project partners best engage in boosting project success? Frances Kannekens from the MANABAS COAST project shares three key tips.
Project capitalisation means that the project's work is taken up and reused on a wider scale, amplifying its impact. And this is not something you have to leave up to chance. By engaging with "takers" - organisations likely to use your work - you can make it happen.
MANABAS COAST empowers partners to activate takers in their own networks. In the video below, scientist Frances Kannekens from the Dutch HZ University of Applied Sciences explain how they do this.
Three ways to power up your partners
In the video, Frances highlights three innovative approaches used in MANABAS COAST.
- Make room for partners to engage. Engaging partners in developing the project's approaches and core materials builds enthusiasm and joint ownership.
- Adopt a common language to talk about capitalisation. Being clear about key terms helps the conversation along and builds mutual understanding. The team closely defined the terms "scaling up", "scaling out" and "scaling deep". Below, you will find a leaflet explaining this further.
- Use the Circle of Influence to get more takers on board. This method helps everyone to see their own possibilities to engage with takers. You can download their materials below.
